Gilly Hopkins' Temporary Placement

Gilly Hopkins is constantly moving from home to home. How do you think this affects her? Think about :
  • personality
  • attitude
  • feelings
Do you have a text to self connection?

  2. i think that moving from home to home affects Gilly because it makes her feel seperated more and more from her mother. In personality it might affect her by making her insecure. in attidude it might affect her by her becoming more defensive. in feelings it might make her feel sadder. i have moved from room to room in my house.

  3. Moving around alot is probably a real pain. Not just the having to pack and stuff like that but also moving from different families. Though she sort of deserves it. If she would just be kind and be a good child she wouldn't have to move around so much. I have moved around alot and it is a pain getting things sorted out.

  4. I think moving around can be tough. Not only packing but making friends new schools. This could really affect her personalty byhaving to make new friends and it could hurt her social skills. It would affect her attitude she would start being a mean person because she would face mean people and it would "rub off on her".
I think being around other foster parents with kids like Maime Trotter and W.E.. How they might not welcome her into their home. I change seats when I move classes.

  6. it is very hard to leave your friend and move to another place. I think that gilly isn't nice to people because if she makes a good friend she might have to move the next day and leave the friend.

  7. I think that the moving affects her personality because she thinks she is better than everybody, she "knows" that here mother would come get her if she could. It affects her attitude because she acts like she is better than anybody because she knows that if she gets in trouble, Trotter can't do anything about it. I agree with Maryellie 100 percent. I do think she will feel more sad and depressed. My text to text conection is, I am constantly traveling from the mountains to charolett to The beach and back home.

  8. I think moving place to place affects Gilly on her personality, attitude, and feelings because she dosen't have time to go to school, make friends, and shes not close to her mother.

  9. I think that the more Gilly moves the more she gets seperated from her mother like Maryellie said. I think that personallity it might make her scared and unsecure. In feelings it might make her feel sad and not close enough to who she is living with. In attitude it might make her feel like she has to be deffensive. in school I move to different desks in different classrooms.

  10. Moving around can affect your attitude because you have been around so many different people that you dont know how to act around them so you get mad or upset. It could affect her personality because she has to make friends over and over again. It may affect her feelings because she is getting farther from her mother every day. My parents are divorced so I know how it feels to move around.
