The Truth?

Who is telling the truth? Who is Lying? Can the truth ever really be determined when different people see the same event in different ways?

  1. I think that Ms. Narwin is telling the real truth. Philip is telling some of the truth, but he left out some important things. I think that different people see this problem in different ways. Some people say that they need Ms. Narwin's side of the story, when some people immediatly decided that Philip's side of the story is completely true. Philip mostly lied in all of this book! Kaylee

  2. maryellie: i think that philip malloy is telling the truth because he said he wasn't singing he was humming.
Everybody else is lying because they were saying that he was singing. miss.narwin said that he was singing. then everybody thought that he was singing because of the news.
i think that the truth CAN be determained because some people say their opinions but some people say the fact and when people say the fact some people migh say the same thing. i think that out of 10 people about 7 of them would say the same thing about something all 10 people saw. so yes the truth can be determained if people saw them in different ways. (i guess some of them wouldn't see them in different ways)

  3. Nobody is Telling the truth and nobody is lying. They are mostly all being dis-honest. They were saying part of the story but NOT the whole story. Miss. Narwin did not have a chance to tell her side of the story but she would have probobly been honest. Philip told his day that he got suspended for singing the Star spagle banner. He did but he was to be standing in silence. Then HIS side of the story was published and all of the facts were wrong. The truth can be detirmand, for example: If there was a robery and there were 2 whitnesis. They both had 2 different storys, the security gards could look at a servalence camera(If there was one)to determind the story!

  4. I think Miss Narwin is telling the truth. I think Philip is sortive telling the truth because he said he was singing but he really was humming. I think you can find the truth when you get both sides of the story.

  5. Narwin is lying. Phil told the truth somewhat. Narwin said he was singing not humming if she said he was humming he probaly would not be in WA academy. Now everybody belives he was singing!
The truth can be detirmed by different perspectives if the story's the complete same and not changed every interview.

  6. I think Philip is telling the truth in some way,but he over exaggerated when he said Narwin was the worst teacher. Nobdy is lying but (like Isabella said) they were dishonest. Philip was taking out the parts of the story that he did the wrong things. You can't really ever tell if someone is is not telling the truth (unless you are Layne and you are a bad lier) it is hard to tell. When people tell different stories always go to the person in charge of the whole thing.

  7. I agree with Isabella and Zion. Isabella is right Narwin didn't get to tell her story. And Zion you are right Phil is kind of telling the truth he was humming not singing.

  8. I think that no one is telling the truth, like Isabella said everyone is being dishonest. If Ms. Narwin would have just let the News Reporters interview her a bounch of people would have heard both sides of the story and then they could choose which story the beleve in.Philip WAS telling some of the truth but he was either leaving out or changing some of the info. I think that the truth can be determined if the people say what THEY saw and not what everybody else said.

  9. I agree with Ryan, who agreed with Isabella and Zion. I agree, because you never can get the perfect story unless you are actually there, and you may leave out a little detail, that leads into a giant uproar.

  10. the truth can only be determined if you get both sides of the story. Miss.Narwin doesn't get to tell her side of the story. I think Phillp is telling the truth in some way but Miss.Narwin has the most truthful side. Phillp is saying that he got kicked out for singing the star spangled banner but he was not standing for a moment of silence he was humming

You can't really tell you just have to wait and see what happens.

  13. I agree with Maryellie because she said how Philip was telling the truth when he said that he was humming, when everybody else said that he was singing.{forgot to add in first comment...] At the end when his new teacher asked him to lead the "Star Spangled Banner" he cried and said that he didn't know the words! That proved that some other people didn't tell the truth. Everybody in this book lied at some time! KAYLEE

  14. Miss Narwin is telling the truth and so is Phil he is just omiting some stuff. Dr. Palleni was lying to Jennifer Stewert when he said that no boy got suspended. Sometimes the truth can be determined and sometimes it can't. It can be proved if you have some form of evidence like if you catch the person on video. When you don't have anything to prove the truth you are most likely not going to get the real truth. Preston
