How could something as innocent as humming during the Star Spangled Banner make news across the country and cause an experienced teacher to take early retirement?
I think the innocence of humming during the 'The Star Spangled Banner' would it could lead to a singing career and that person humming during the song could donate a lot of money to the teacher and they retired.
I think that maybe it disturbs Mrs. Narwin because she likes obedient kids. It might also be because she is an older teacher. However I also think that if Phillip Malloy was humming loudly it might have irratated Mrs. Narwin because of the loudness in the room. The reason Mrs. Narwin might retire is because maybe she can't stand Phillip Malloy's bad behavior any more. Kaylee
I think it might cause a disturbance just like Kaylee said. It could make an experienced teacher retire because everybody would probaly get mad at her.
i think it might be a disturbance because every one was just standing there all quiet and phillip just starts humming while people are doing what they're supposed to do, being silent
It may be a really big disturbance, and in this case it was really rude, for Phillip to be humming the Star Spangled Banner because he may of been showing off his 'Patriotism' but the intercom says to be silent.
I think that such a little thing like humming the star spangled banner can make news across the country because the people dont know the whole story. They only know half of it and most of the half is not true. The public is so shocked so they have to make a big deal out of it. They newspapers want to sell some more papers to get money and they want people to say their opinion. I think the humming and all of the lies and puplisity in the newspaper can cause a teacher to resign because they are just tired and done with all of the lies. She feels like everybody is against her. She just feels warn out and tired about all of the lies.
I think it may disturb people. If you think about it it isn't a big deal because stuff like this happens every day and even worse and it isn't always in the paper or news. -clea
Because the story in the news didn't say he was humming. It said he was singing. This all started because Phillip Malloy lied with ommision. He got in trouble because he was causing a disturbance.
It could make news across the because people thought that Phil got suspended for singing the Star Spanled Banner but he really got suspended for making a disturbance. It could also force a teacher to take an early retierment because people might think that she made up that rule to get students in trouble. Preston
I think humming in class kind of disturbs Ms.Narwin. Humming is innocent it is as innocent as singing to yourself. I agree with Preston that people might think she made up that rule just to get her students in trouble. Maggie
I think the truth is the opposite of lying. When somebody asks you a question you answer without fibbing.
